Clerkship Information

 

  • Judge Jackson employs two term clerks for one-year terms.  She has hired clerks through the 2022-2023 Term. She is not currently accepting applications for the 2023-2024 Term, and she will post a listing on OSCAR when she is ready to do so.  Judge Jackson only accepts clerkship applications through OSCAR; she does not accept applications submitted by mail or e-mail. In addition, Judge Jackson follows the Hiring Plan and will not solicit or accept applications from law students with less than two years of law school grades.
  • Judge Jackson strongly prefers candidates with top 10% class standing or prior clerkship experience, as well as practice or courses in employment discrimination, administrative law, and federal courts, in addition to moot court and/or journal experience. (Last updated: June 2020.)

Internship Information

 

  • Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has hired interns for the summer of 2020; she will post a notice on this webpage when she is ready to begin considering applications for internships for Fall of 2020. Interns in Judge Jackson’s chambers will gain legal research and writing experience and have the opportunity to observe court proceedings.
  • Interns are expected to work part-time during academic terms and full-time during the summer. Law students may apply for an internship with Judge Jackson by submitting a cover letter, resume, law school transcript, writing sample, and list of two references and/or two letters of recommendation, combined in a single PDF, to Judge_K_Jackson_Internships@dcd.uscourts.gov.
