Clerkship Information:

  • Judge AliKhan employs three law clerks to assist her in chambers.  Clerkship terms are for one year and typically begin in late August or early September.  The judge welcomes applicants with diverse backgrounds, employment experience before or after law school, and an interest in government service or public interest work.
  • Judge AliKhan is no longer accepting applications for the 2024-25 term.  She will post future clerkship opportunities on OSCAR.
  • Law students and alumni who have access to OSCAR should apply via OSCAR.  Applicants who do not have access to OSCAR may send applications (as a single PDF consisting of a cover letter, resume, writing sample, law school transcript, and list of references) to Judge_AliKhan_Clerkships@dcd.uscourts.gov and should arrange to have three letters of recommendation sent under separate cover to Judge_AliKhan_Clerkships@dcd.uscourts.gov.  Please do not send paper applications.

 

Internship Information:

  • Judge AliKhan accepts applications from law students and recent law graduates for unpaid judicial internships.  Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with the following deadlines:
    • Summer 2024 internship: March 1, 2024
    • Fall 2024 internship: July 12, 2024
    • Spring 2025 internship: November 1, 2024
  • Fall and spring internships are generally part time (~16 hours/week) and in person.  Summer internships are generally full time (~40 hours/week) and in person.
  • Internship applicants should submit a single PDF containing a (1) cover letter, (2) resume, (3) law school transcript, (4) list of three references, and (5) writing sample.  The application should be sent via email to Judge_AliKhan_Clerkships@dcd.uscourts.gov.
  • First-year law students may submit applications before fall grades are released but should submit an updated application packet once a complete transcript is available.
