Employment Information

Judge Friedrich employs three clerks for one-year terms.  Information about clerkship vacancies and the application process may be found on OSCAR.

Judge Friedrich also employs part-time interns during the academic year (15-20 hours per week) and full-time interns during the summer (40 hours per week).  Interested students should email a cover letter, resume, transcript, list of references, and a writing sample to Friedrich_Chambers@dcd.uscourts.gov.  Judge Friedrich accepts and reviews applications year-round on a rolling basis.  The internship is unpaid, but chambers will facilitate students receiving academic credit when so allowed by their institutions.

Interns research substantive and procedural legal issues, draft legal memoranda, and assist in the drafting of opinions.  Interns are also responsible for editing and cite checking.  There are regular opportunities for interns to observe court proceedings.  Students desiring a writing sample for future job applications will be given the opportunity to produce written work suitable for such purposes.
