Magistrate Judge Robin M. Meriweather, of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, is accepting applications for Fall 2020 internship positions in her chambers. Interns will gain legal research and writing experience and have the opportunity to observe court proceedings. Semester interns are expected to work part-time (10-15 hours per week).
Interested applicants should submit a single, combined PDF including a cover letter, resume, short writing sample (15 pages or less), law school transcript, and at least two references. References may be submitted either as signed letters of recommendation or as a list with each reference’s contact information.
Judge Meriweather prefers that application materials be sent electronically to Meriweather_Applications@dcd.uscourts.gov and also accepts internship applications by mail. Judge Meriweather will review applications on a rolling basis until September 4, 2020.
Remote Work for Interns:
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Judge Meriweather expects that Fall 2020 internships in her chambers will be conducted remotely. Subject to any Standing Orders from the Court, or other public health guidelines, chambers interns shall be permitted, but not expected or required, to work in-person.
Applicants from outside the D.C. area are encouraged to apply.
