Judicial Internships

Magistrate Judge Zia M. Faruqui, of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, is accepting applications for Spring and Summer internship positions in his chambers. Interns will gain legal research and writing experience and have the opportunity to observe court proceedings. Semester interns are expected to work part-time (10 - 15 hours per week).

Interested applicants should submit a single, combined PDF including a cover letter, resume, short writing sample (15 pages or less), law school transcript, and at least two references. References may be submitted either as signed letters of recommendation or as a list with each reference’s contact information.

Application materials should be sent electronically to Judge Faruqui will review applications on a rolling basis.

Remote Work for Interns:
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Judge Faruqui expects that internships in his chambers will be conducted remotely.  Subject to any Standing Orders from the Court, or other public health guidelines, chambers interns shall be permitted, but not expected or required, to work in-person.  Applicants from outside the D.C. area are encouraged to apply.
