Criminal Debt Payments

In-Person Payments:
The Clerk's Office accepts cash, checks, money orders and debit cards for payment of criminal debt (special assessment, fines and restitution). Checks must be made payable to, Clerk, U.S. District Court. The Clerk’s Office is located on the first floor in room 1225 and office hours are Monday – Friday, 9 A.M. – 4 P.M. 

Mail Payments:
The Clerk's Office will accept checks or money orders in the mail. All must be made payable to, Clerk, U.S. District Court and must include name of the defendant and their case number. If you need help locating your case number, you may call the Finance Department at      (202) 354-3100 for assistance.

Pay.gov Online Payments:
The Clerk’s Office is now accepting payments online through Pay.gov for federal debt. You may pay by using a bank account (ACH) or credit, debit or prepaid cards.

Before making online payments, debtors should self-enroll on the Pay.gov payment website. Instructions on how to self-enroll and make online payments can be found below.

CRIMINAL DEBT PAYMENTS MADE VIA PAY.GOV MAY ONLY BE ACCEPTED FROM INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE NOT PROHIBITED BY THE TERMS OF THEIR JUDGMENT TO MAKE PAYMENT IN THIS MANNER.
