Effective March 1, 2026, the payment of certain filing fees may be paid online via credit/debit card or bank account (ACH).
Eligible Fee Payments:
- Filing Fee for Civil Case
- Filing Fee for Notice of Appeal
- Filing Fee for Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus
- Filing Fee for Miscellaneous Case
The Filing Fee Request Form cannot be used for payments generated in CM/ECF. The form can only be used to pay for filing fees that, until now, have been paid by mail, or at the intake counter.
The Filing Fee Request Form requires the following information in order to complete the request. Please have the information ready to ensure your request is processed accordingly:
- Required for All Fee Payments:
- Fee Type
- Payer′s first and last name
- Payer′s Address
- Payer's Email Address
- Required for New Civil Case, Petition for a Writ of Habeas Corpus, and Miscellaneous Case Payments:
- Case documents must be submitted before or with the submission of this form
- Required for Notice of Appeal Payment:
- Case Number
- Notice of Appeal
STEP 1: Complete and submit the FILING FEE REQUEST FORM
- Once you have filled out the filing fee request form, click the “Submit Form by Email” button; this will open your default email application.
- Do not change the subject line of the email. You can put other information in the body of the email if needed.
- If your default email application does not open, manually send an email to dcd_intake@dcd.uscourts.gov with the subject line Filing Fee Request Form.
- You must send the email with the form attached for your request to be processed.
- The intake Clerk will review your request and if there are no deficiencies, you will receive an email from pay.gov with your eBill.
STEP 2: Complete payment of your eBill

- If the ACH option is used to pay your eBill, please pay close attention to your account information.
- If we receive a returned item, you will be charged a $53.00 returned item fee.
