What if I Can't Pay the Filing Fee?
If you are unable to pay the filing fee, you may request permission from the court to proceed in forma pauperis (IFP) by completing an Application to Proceed in District Court Without Prepaying Fees or Costs (AO 240).
A separate application is required for each new case filed; IFP status, even if granted, does not carry over to other cases.
Please allow 4-6 weeks for approval of the IFP application.
